Szechuan chicken
Sichuan, a region in China, is the origin of Szechuan chicken, which is known for being quite spicy. But now it is quite famous as street food on the North and South side of India. The strong flavours are frequently used in Szechuan cuisine, particularly the distinctive and numbing Szechuan peppercorns. The real flavour of five spice-coated boneless chicken pieces stir-fried with onions, ginger, garlic, and chillies can be had by following the FARM2COOK recipe, accompanied by steamed rice.

cornstarch or corn flour
Freshly ground pepper, preferably Szechuan
Vegetable oil
for frying

low-sodium soy sauce

rice wine vinegar
2 tbsp
chili garlic sauce

Sesame seeds (for garnish)

PREPARATION

PREPARATION METHOD OF SZECHUAN CHICKEN:

 

Step 1: Combine the FARM2COOK ordered online chicken with 1/4 cup cornflour in a sizable plastic bag and season with salt and pepper to taste. To coat, shake.

 

Step 2: Add enough oil to a big pot over medium-high heat to cover it by 2 inches. Chicken should be shaken free of extra cornflour before being placed in heated oil. Fry chicken in batches for 7 minutes, or until golden and no longer pink. Drain on a platter covered with paper towels.

 

Step 3: Heat 1 tablespoon of canola oil in a large pan over medium heat. Cook the ginger and garlic for 1 minute, or until fragrant. After adding the dried chile peppers and cooking them for 1 minute, the bell peppers should be tender. Get rid of the heat.

 

Step 4: Combine soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, chilli garlic sauce, and sesame oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add the final tablespoon of cornflour and boil for 5 minutes to thicken.

 

Step 5: Combine the chicken and sauce in the skillet and stir to combine. Serve over rice with sesame seeds as a garnish.
